DIN EN 455-2 Physical properties*

DIN EN 455-2 describes the screening of the dimensions and the tearing load of the gloves. For each lot tested there is a minimum of 13 samples.
The dimensions in length and width are determined with a ruler. The measurements are compared to the chart in the DIN EN. Depending on the purpose of the gloves there are different measurements required for different sizes.
To determine the tearing load of the gloves a shouldered bar sample is punched from the palm of the glove. The thickness of the glove and of the sample is measured. The maximum force determined in a tensile test of the sample is multiplied with a ratio of glove and sample thickness to receive the comparative tearing load.
