Dr. rer. hum. Dipl.-Ing. Carmen Zietz

CEO and owner

Carmen Zietz founded the INNOPROOF GmbH together with Daniel Kluess in 2015. Previously, she led the working group "Experimental Biomechanics" at the Biomechanics and Implant Technology Research Laboratory (FORBIOMIT) at the Orthopaedic Clinic and Polyclinic, University Medicine Rostock. After completing her apprenticeship as a technical drawer, she studied mechanical engineering at the University of Rostock with a focus on biomedical engineering and materials science. Her diploma thesis in 2007 was about experimental and numerical investigations of artificial acetabular cups with a focus on the postoperative anchorage. Carmen Zietz earned her PhD in 2015 in the field of experimental wear tests on artificial joints, with a focus on the influence of different test conditions. Her extensive research activities are published in international journals.

Priv.-Doz. Dr.-Ing. habil. Daniel Kluess

CEO and owner

Daniel Kluess has been working intensively on the various aspects of implant research and implant safety for 15 years. He studied mechanical engineering at the University of Rostock with a focus on biomedical engineering /applied mechanics including a one-year stay at the University of California, San Diego. From 2005 to 2008 he worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering and at the Orthopaedic Clinic of the University of Rostock. He earned his PhD in 2008 and was since then working as assistant head in the Biomechanics and Implant Technology Research Laboratory (FORBIOMIT) at the Orthopaedic Clinic and Polyclinic, University Medicine Rostock. In June 2014, Daniel Kluess successfully defended his habilitation in the field of experimental orthopaedics on the topic of "Extended Investigations on the Safety and Application of Orthopaedic Implants". Within the network of musculoskeletal biomechanics (MSB-Net) of the DGOU section of basic research, he coordinates the Cluster "Numerical Simulation". He is, inter alia, Co-editor of the White Paper for Research in Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery of the DGOU. Dr. Kluess is a founding and board member of the German Center for Implant Safety (DeZIS). His scientific activities are published in numerous international publications.
